Physical inventory - new movement type

Hi

I have created a new movement type 991 copying 701, for physical inventory.

while posting the qty in MI10. I give the reason mentioned against 991. but when i check the material doc. after posting, system has picked up the movement type 701 instead of 991.

I have created this new movement type, as we need different accounting postings.

How do I make 991 to be picked up for posting inventory differences ?

go to OMBS and in reason for movement remove entry of 701 and add entry of 991

I cannot remove 701, because this will also be used.

I need to create this new movement type actually for different accounting postings.

how do you want to differentiate if you use 701 or the new movement type when you post the differences?

Hi

Our client has many Plants, they want to bifurcate the Physical inventory postings of certain set of plants to different GL accounts.

For this i am creating a new movement type (991 copied from 701), in it i have given a different Account modifier, then in OBYC i assign the Account modifier to different GL a/cs.

In MI10, i select the reason w.r.t 991 & post. But when i check the material doc. it still shows 701, instead of 991.

(In Mvt. type 991, under allowed transactions, i have given MI01, MI02, MI07, MI08 & MI10.)

in ombs give entry of 991 with reason 10 and description

then in mi10 choose 991 10

note the no 10 should not be repeat with any other movement if it is there plz use some other no

do you really think that SAP will determine the movement type based on the chosen reason for movement ?

Hi Seema,

Since movement types for physical inventory is being maintained in table T150, you cannot use your configured new movement type even though you came up with a another Account Modifier and assigned a specific GL Account here. The system still looks up to the standard movement type which is 701. Therefore, your posting will be on the GL account assigned for INV.

This would require a modification on table T150. You may ask your ABAP.

You need to consider the reversal of this new movement type. Check OMJJ transaction code.

Please check in OMJJ following settings-

click the new movement type and double click allowed transactions..there should be MI07 , MI08 and MI10.

You should also check if other fields have been copied from 701 or not like reason for movement etc.

Actually i checked each screen with that of 701, everything seems to have got copied to 991..
