IQ04 Classification mandatory to Equipment

Hello experts,

How can I set the Class and Characteristics data mandatory when creating devices massively from transaction IQ04?

When creating a single device from IQ01, user exit IEQM0003 can be used because it has the parameter MAIN_CLASS. However, this user exit is not called from IQ04.

User exit IQSM0005 (OSS Note 92970) is called from transaction IQ04, but it does not have the parameter MAIN_CLASS, therefore I can't find a way to verify whether a class has been asigned or not.

The serialised materials are created in background, so you cannot enter a class manually.

And how would IQ04 "know" which class to assign?

Hi Peter,

From IQ04, the "classification" button can be used to enter a class. The system assigns same values to all devices created.
