Last month, I was given a task that on the surface seemed very workable. I was to revise a database program written 30 years ago in DOS to make it work with modern computers. The original program is thousands of pages written using dBase III and compiled using Clipper. The reports were created in 1997 using Crystal Reports. So I purchased the latest software, dBase Plus 11 and Crystal Reports 2016 and began my task. Things have not gone as smoothly as you might think. The two programs both work, just not together. I have yet to get a single Crystal Report to print inside dBase Plus 11. I have found the only way I can get anything to work is to use Crystal Reports as a viewer and manually recreate each of hundreds of reports in the dBase Report program. Surely there is a better way. Has anyone solved this riddle?
Hi Matt,
