Hi,
We have requirement where status is immaterial for document as there is no life cycle for the document. What are the best practices for those types of documents e.g. we store photos, certificates in SAP.
What is the status that can be used for such type of document types.
Thanks.
Anirudh,
Will reward suitably for the right solution
If you don't want to use status management
Then in Customization setting - DC10
Select the document type & set document status fields to suppress in field selection tab.
You need not have to maintain any status for the document
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Hi Anirudh,
Statuses are essential if there are some approvals required and also when the DIR has to flow thru predefined status network thru many approvers.
If in case of ur requirement statuses are immaterial then you can proceed with only two statuses.
if there is only one initiator then create one status as initiator (who creates DIR and uploads documents),create one more status as Released with Lock status (S).
because in Initator status, initator can upload/delete any documents along with changes required before he releases the DIR.
Initiator-->Released
Thank You,
Manoj
Pl. reward if useful.

Normally the mention documnets are not able modify
we can able to add the stuff only if any changes so u keep the document as RL if the workflow is attached to your SAP server then u wants to create a document in status IW and allow to release only the required document is attached ..

Best solution would be:
IW (In Work) -> RL (Released) -> SU (Superseded)
CA (Cancelled)
