Hi All,

Pls. let me know the exact function of Diagnostic agent in SAP.

if it is not running then what issues will come in SAP server.

Hi Yog Raj,

from the Naming Convention definition in the SAP Help Portal:

"SAP Solution ManagerDiagnostics Agentis the remote component of End-to-End Root Cause Analysis. It allows having a connection between SAP Solution Manager and the Managed System(s), and then to collect information from the Managed Systems for reporting purposes."

So, it's not necessary for the daily SAP functionality itself, nevertheless it's necessary from the perspective of maintenance operations (monitoring, updates, etc.).
