Spare Parts-[Usage restriction specific to Plant

Hi Experts,

I have a Spare part material which is available in different plants.

I want to restrict usage of a "Spare Part" (ERSA Material) in maintenance order specific to the Plant.

In case a user selecting / trying to add a Spare Parts from another Plant, system should provide either a warning or error message.

Could you please help me with a solution to achieve this requirement through PM/MM settings.

Thank you

Renjith NK

Renjith NK,

User-exit PPCO0023 (Checks Changes to Order Components) can be used to validate the material data entered by the user. And if necesessary, you can automatically delete the material from the Components tab list.

Hi,

There is no standard config are available for your request. You can do an enhancement to check whether the entered plant is correct.

CNEX0027 Customer enhancement: Plant, storage loc. finding for comp.

Contact your abaper with your requirement, he/she will be able to do it.

Renjith,

While it has been years since I worked the details of authorizations, I am fairly certain that you can limit the authority by Plant. You can limit Changing Work Orders to specific plants. You can limit WO status by security. Work with your security team. It may be obvious looking through the list, or they may need to test for the detailed authorization.

Is your spare part/material extended to the plant wherein it's not supposed to be used? If not, you can opt not to extend. This will be dependent on your master data maintenance policy.

You can also explore using plant sp. material status

Hi,

Spare parts are extended to another plants.

My requirement is- suppose Material X is extended in Plant-1 and Plant-2. User in plant-1 should not include stock of Material X from plant-2 in to maintenance order for Plant-1.

If does so, then the system should give a message.

Thank you

Hello,

Will the user have authorization for both plants? Please check answers below as these might be helpful for your requirement.
