Uploading a Role from another system

Hi All,

When i am uploading the role Z_FICO from pfcg in the systems i am getting the following error

"File doesn't contain any valid data"

I downloaded this role from another ECC System, I want these role to be uploaded to this system.

Can you please let me know how to upload roles without it giving me an error?

Hi Julius,

I am copying it from system which is not in this landscape.

So i have to Download and Upload the role and while uploading it, I even tried selecting unicode-UFT-8,16,ANSI.But nothing works.

Is there any other procedure from were I can get this roles from system which is in another landscape or can I correct this error while uploading roles?

Hi,

you need to use the same codepage for both procedures download/upload. So you have to select for instance utf-8

already when downloading the role.....

does it still not work then?

Are the systems of the same version? I think that may be a requirement, but I'm not sure.

Another option is to put the role in a transport and release that. Then ask your basis team to move the transport's datafile and cofile to the target system and import it there.
