variant configuration

hi guys,

i am creting variant config. where i have maintained class type 300 as well as created characteristic,class and dependency and assigned to config profile but when i am creating sales order (vao1) i got one error that configration not possible for material xxx, and than transaction TAC is not defined.so plz help to solve this error.

Two things to look at. First, did you specify a plant on the Sales Order Line Item and is that Material extended to that Plant. I am assuming you did so, as you recieved an Item Category Error. Second, TAC sounds like an Item Category. There are rules that are defined by your technical person in SD for Item Category Definitions. There are also Requirements Classes defined as well. You need to work with your SD person, as SD defines what Item Category gets assigned to a Material Based upon the Material Master General Item Category. Sorry, I am not a SD Technical savy person, but only can relate that I have seen the same problem which our SD Tech corrected.
