Target Group - Set the fields of BP : Automatic

Hi All,

Based on various criterions, target group can be built.

After identifying the Business Partners as Target group, few fields needs to be set at the Business Partner automatically.

For ex. BP 1, 2, 3, 10 has been identified as the Target Group.

One of the field like rating of the BP, for partner 1, 2,3, 10 needs to be set after building the target group.

How this can be done?

There is a standard program to set marketing attribute values to all Bp of a target group.

It can be found under transaction CRMD_MKT_TOOLS (marketing tools).

The program name is CRM_MK_TBP_BPS_OF_TG_ASSIGN_ATT.

Regarding automation, I suggest you use Campaign Automation. A combination of the standard workflow "Create TG" and a bespoke workflow based on program above should do the trick.

Thanks for bringing the point of Updating marketing attributes of the target group.

However, if any other field apart from marketing attributes needs to be set then how it can be accomplished.

Please guide.

Then a bespoke program is needed which replace the program I mentioned in my previous posting.

You should copy the std worksflow "Create TG" and amend it so it does the update you need to all the BPs of the TG.

Sorry I don't think so. SAP only provides this mechanism for Marketing attributes. How do you think they could write a program which could update automatically any field which any client could think of? This is dreamland !

Don't ask me for some codes. I'm not a developer, just a solution architect. You now have the framework of a solution which you can prototype.

Hi Thierry,

It's true to some extent. However, SAP can/should develope such program in future to support standard fields & fields enhanced by EEWB.

I am under the process to find ot the feasible & scalable solutions. Hence checking out such possibilities.

It is always better to ask rather than getting to know after doing custom developement.

Hope you agree with this thought.

Could you please share what needs to be provided for the field 'Data to MSA' when "Assignment of an Attribute Value to all BPs in a Target Group" is executed from the Expert Tools?
