External operations in routing order production

Hi gurus,

in routing of order production I define an operation as external. In details for operation exists a field called Planned delivery in Ext.Processing. I put quantity of days planned to receive material or assigned in info register of provider. Problem is that these days aren't working days, saturday, sunday are in account. I would need these days are only working days to schedule order correctly.

Hello Daniel,

Planned delivery time is number of calendar days needed to obtain the material from vendor so system will consider all calendar days here.

But in case of Goods receipt processing time is number of workdays required after receiving the material for inspection and placement into storage so it will work according to your factory calendar only.

I need planned days in external operation of order production would be workdays, not calendar days. With calendar days, scheduling of order is inconsistent.

Dear Daniel,

In nutshell your working days and your vendor working may be different from each other so it always use calendar days only. (i'e saturday will be working day for your vendor).

So I think it is not possible, and it is preconfigure with system that in case of planned delivery time it always use calendar days

Hi,

In this case You need not use Planned Delivery field to schedule your operation. Define a Seperate scheduling formula for the work center and maintain time in Days in any of the standard values for this operation. That way system will schedule the operation for those many Working days.

Disadvantage: Since you will use DAYS as unit for atleast 1 operation in the production order, most probably all the operations will get scheduled in DAYS and not with any unit smaller that that (HRs, MIN etc.) you check it out.
