Hello experts,
the initial situation is this: On customer site there are three SLDs. All of them have the same content, but one is used for DEV, QA and PRD respectively.
Now a new technical system with a corresponding business system has to be maintained (SAP ABAP). Unfortunately for the new one there is only one for DEV and PRD. QA does not exist.
The final goal is to use the one for DEV in XI-DEV and XI-QA. So when the configuration content is transported from DEV to QA no change must take place. However when it comes to a transport to PRD the DEV business system should change to the PRD one.
How can I achive this by configuring transport targets in the SLD? I tried different settings but had no luck so far.
For example DEV --> PRD does not work. When a transport to QA takes place I get an error message. It states that there is no DEV --> QA transport route configured. DEV --> DEV --> PRD is also not possible.
Perhaps the transport routes have to be maintained differently for every SLD. But I have no experience with this.
Thanks in advance
Frank
Hi,
ECQ does not exist and will not exist. Otherwise it would be clear and easy.

Sorry, I missed that part. I would try and create a second Business System under the Technical System of ECC-D, let's call it ECC-D2. Define this as the transport target for ECC-D. ECC-P would become the transport target of ECC-D2.
ECC-D and ECC-D2 would end up pointing to the same Technical System. I've never tried it, but it's worth I try I guess.
Thanks for your contribution, but I think this is not what I am looking for. To make it more concrete I will give an example.
SLDs: SLD-DEV, SLD-QA, SLD-PRD
SLD-DEV is the source for SLD-QA and SLD-PRD. Every SLD has the same content.
New ABAP-System: ECC-DEV (ECD) and ECC-PRD (ECP); ECC-QA (ECQ) does not exist!
Goal to achive after transport of configuration objects:
XI-DEV XI-QA XI-PRD
ECD ECD ECP
How is the correct transport target setup in SLDs?

Hi Frank,
If I understand your question correctly, you are using three system landscape and now want to change it to two system landscape.
I think if you take the QA system out of landscape, that would all be required i.e. remove it from the Business system group and do not maintain transport targets for QA system.
If you want to transport objects to QA for testing purpose, you can use File System export/import method, only that business system name would still be shown as that of DEV both in DEV and QA systems.
Edit: If you are using CMS, [this article|http://www.riyaz.net/blog/index.php/2008/05/28/xipi-step-by-step-guide-to-xi-transports-using-cms-part-i/] explains CMS configuration and transport mechanism for two-system landscape.
Hope this helps.

Riyaz
