Moving Template Project Folder

I am a UI5 newbie, I am trying to organize my folder neatly, so when I get a template project (e.g. SAP FIORI Worklist) when I run through UI5, tutorials, I wanted to move the folder produced by [New->Project from Template] from under "Root" where it is initially placed to my "Learning" folder. Please note my folder structure is as follows

-- Learning

---- [I want to place template here]

So far, I (seem to) manage to get it running(after moving the folder) by running as web app after doing the ones below:

- Modify Bootstrap src
- Modify Data Source URI
- Modify welcomepage in <- this is only needed when I deploy

However, when I deploy...what I get is 404 Not found error. Can anyone help to explain which elements need to be modified when I move the template to internal folders?

    Hi Andre,

First let me say, SAP Web IDE does not currently support nested projects, or organizing projects in folders like you did. Web IDE relies on the fact that projects are in the root of the workspace. We're working on having multiple workspaces, so for example you could have a "learning" workspace, but for now I recommend not to do what you did.

Having said that, regarding your question, when deploying the app to SAP Cloud Platform, it searches for the index.html file directly under the root. If it's not under the root, its path can be adjusted in the neo-app.json, see properties welcomeFile and sendWelcomeFileRedirect:

    • Hi Michal,

Thanks for the clarification. Hopefully one day SAP will support nested foldering without too much hassle, as it would be important for multiple implementation. Looking forward to the multiple workspace.

Please post the Chrome output using the Developer Tools (F12) from the Network tab so that we can understand what is not being found (and where in particular the resources is deemed to be located).

    • Hi Bernard,

thanks for the kind offer, but it seems from the response above, there are some major effort required just for organizing, so I will drop the idea for now. I'm not too much of a geek...more like a Lazy but Digital-OCD Tech consultant :D
