service order type creation

Hi,

I want to create a service order type. We dont have any requirement to create any service notification for it.

Could any one please tell me is it necessary to create a service notification before a service order.

Hello,

Not necessary. If you don't have the requirement to create a service notification before creating an order, then it is not required. You may directly create service order with transaction IW31.

Thanks for your reply..But my question was when we create a new service order type at the SPRO level, do we need to configure a service notification first for that service order type at the SPRO level?

Hello,

Not necessary.

SPRO --> PM/CS --> Maintenance Processing --> Maintenanceorder --> Order tyupe. You can define new order type here. If you want to link a notification type to an order type, you need to do another setting.
