To deploy ESS and MSS on Portal 7.0 & ERP 2005, you totally 5 files.
Logon and download the application components from Service Marketplace:
Go to the address: http://service.sap.com/swdc
Click on SAP Support Packages - Entry by Application Group
Follow the link Support Packages and Patches -> SAP Application Components -> SAP ERP -> SAP ERP 2005 -> Entry by Component -> SAP XSS (Self Services)
Then download the following files:
SAP ESS 600
SAP MSS 600
SAP PCUI_GP 600
It is very important that all the files you download have the same supportpackage level.
Deploy
You deploy all the files in SDM. Start by deploying the SAP_PCUI_GP_600. Then you can deploy the rest in any order you want.
What if it fails ?
Some times the SDM failes to deploy, and a error message is written out. If there are no specific message, then open the log folder on SDM and analyse it for details. Often it is enough to restart the deployment from where it failed, but look for detailed information in the log file
Upgrade
If you have deployed all the files in Support Package 9, and later the SP 13 or 15 is released. There is no need for undeploying the Self Service content. Just add the new files as a new deployment and start the process.

Hi sorry the link have been changed or revised check this fresh download link for BP
there are mainly 3 BP which you need to install. Make sure you install SAP PCUI_GP 600 first then ESS & MSS.
goto: https://websmp203.sap-ag.de/support
Click on SAP Support Packages - Entry by Application Group
Follow the link Support Packages and Patches -> SAP Application Components -> SAP ERP -> SAP ERP 6.0 -> Entry by Component -> SAP XSS (Self Services)
Here you can select the Patch which you want to go after your initial installation which was SP09
i.e
Under -> SAP ESS 600 you will get the ESS BP
Click on #OS independent -> supoose you want to go for SP13 then download
SAPESS13_0-20000512.SCA SAP ESS 600 Support Package 13 &
SAPESS13P_2-20000512.SCA Patch for SAP ESS 600 Support Package 13
similarly for MSS

SAPESS09P_3-20000512.SCA
SAPPCUIGP09_0-20001215.SCA
SAPPCUIGP09P_2-20001215.SCA
For MSS :

Hi Vijay as you might know the fact that when a portal is installed the default version installed is SP9 the same is yours currently. Now its upto you whcih SP level you want to go for , or your company can decide
if you have no idea then i would recommend you to upgarde your Portal to SP13 and also intall ESS, MSS & PCUIGP to SP13 it is very stable.
or else you can keep SP09 EP and take ESS, mss & pcuigp all in Sp13 levels (but bringing EP to SP13 )
will be very good.
What you have done is you are keeping alll at SP09 , no harm you can go ahead with 9 ass weelll.
but just to enjoy all features and best service applications upgrdae to 13 or so.
please right back if still you think there are any queries

Hi SJ,
Thanks for your reply and suggestions.
Acutally i have instllaed only sneak preview version of SP9. We have to create some kind of the POC on ESS/MSS. So that is why we are tying to put the setup of ESS setup in SP9 itself.
From your reply i was not able to understand one point like.
The above files which i have metioned is correct for the SP9 version or not?
I haven't understand the following point.
else you can keep SP09 EP and take ESS, mss & pcuigp all in Sp13 levels (but bringing EP to SP13 )
will be very good.
Is that mean do u want me to install the SP13 files on present EP SP9 version itself.
As you said better upgrade to SP13. Can u please tell me is it possible to upgrade the sneak preview version to upgrade from SP9 to SP13 by donwloading the related installables.
If possible , Please let me know where i can get those upgrade related files with complete navigation detials.
or else
I can go head with the EP SP9 itself.
SNEAK PREVIEW
buddy you must have told it earlier
you can go ahead with all SP09 version itself, what you downloaded i saw that
ESS
SAPESS09_0-20000512.SCA SAP ESS 600 Support Package 09
SAPESS09P_3-20000512.SCA Patch for SAP ESS 600 Support Package 09
MSS
SAPMSS09_0-20000503.SCA SAP MSS 600 Support Package 09
PCUIGP
SAPPCUIGP09_0-20001215.SCA SAP PCUI_GP 600 Support Package 09
SAPPCUIGP09P_1-20001215.SCA Patch for SAP PCUI_GP 600 Support Package 09
go ahead no problem at all , All are compatible.
but when you plan to roll out for the mass users later on then you can upgrade the versions.
As if now all seems to be fine.
BEST OF LUCK.
Hi SJ,
I have mentioned as the SNeak Preview from the starting of the thread itself . Please look at once. And one more thing i was not able to download the files.
When click on those repective files it is going to added to dowload basket after that, when i click on download basket . It is keep connecting and it is not displaying the basket list.
Only one i was able to see the list. That time also the selected file is appearing in the approve list tab only. That dont have the link to start the downloading.
What i need to do., Please help me to resolve this issue.
Regard
Vijsy
Yes my mistake sorry.
okie now for downloading you must hav a software installed called Download manager ,
you must now ask your basis administrator to download the files mentioned as we dnt have this software generally with us,
once he downloads the files and hands over to you, you can go ahead installing the same.
if your quesry is resolved please close the thread then.
U can install ESS BP for ur current versions
u can download BP from here
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/contentportfolio
