I have a query that returns 2 columns of data Category and Item.

CATEGORY | ITEM
Fruit | Grapes
Fruit | Apples
Fruit | Lemons
Fruit | Strawberries
Fruit | Oranges
Fruit | Bananas
Fruit | Cherries
Fruit | Mangos
Vegetables | Beets
Vegetables | Cabbage
Vegetables | Carrots
Vegetables | Celery
Vegetables | Lettuce
Vegetables | Onions
Other Stuff | Oatmeal
Other Stuff | Bread
Other Stuff | Chocolate
Other Stuff | Popsicles
Other Stuff | Meat
Other Stuff | Yogurt
Other Stuff | Popcorn

I need to create a table in Business Objects Web Intelligence 4.1 SP7 that will display the CATEGORY as a column and then display all of the ITEMs for each CATEGORY under it. i.e.:

Fruit | Vegetables | Other Stuff
Grapes | Beets | Oatmeal
Apples | Cabbage | Bread
Lemons | Carrots | Chocolate
Strawberries | Celery | Popsicles
Oranges | Lettuce | Meat
Bananas | Onions | Yogurt
Cherries | | Popcorn
Mangos | |

Is this possible? If so, what do I need to do to achieve this result in the report?

This is the closest i could get to your requirement. I used crosstab to do this.

Hi Christopher,

The way you want to represent the data i think it is not possible but you can try try break or section that will help to achieve the requirement which will near to your result set.

Thanks,

Anish
