is Trex Server Reqirement advisable

Hello SAP Gurus,

I have some quiries eating my Head, please answer them.

The Requirement of Trax server is mainly to find original application files in DIR by using a text or word maintained in original pplication file.

and with out Trax server this search of Original files with words is never possible. am i right ?

Is Trax server a entirely different server like Content Server, means Additional Cost and Maintanenece required,

Cannot it be like the Single content server can be used for Both Document storage and indexing

can any one explain for what other purposes Trax Server is required, what is the neccessity of going for a Trax server, is this highly recomended ?

cost and configuration and Maintanence of this Trax Server?
