SAP Cloud Application Studio and CTS+

I am following the OpenSAP course about Cloud-Native Operations with SAP Cloud Platform. In Week 3, it is about how to use CTS+ to transport development artifacts (Applications, MTAs...) between environments.

Is it possible to do the same with SAP Cloud Application Studio in a BYD or C4C environment to control the solutions deployment?

For example,

In CTS, you have set two virtual environments (One for the dev environment and one for the test environment). You have created a transport route between them.

In SCAS Dev Env, you create and download a solution package.

In CTS, you create a transport request in the DEV virtual env and you put the package inside. You release the transport request and import it in the TEST virtual environment.

In SCAS Test Env, you deploy the solution package you have download from the transport request.

No, the only way to deploy solutions between ByDesign systems is to do as you've said; assemble and download the solution, then deploy it to whichever systems you want it in. I assume it's the same for C4C. The CTS method isn't possible.

It would be more productive to have a CTS+ (with Solution Manager) or a Cloud-based Transport Service (on SCP) to manage SCAS development artifacts.

There are a lot of crazy and questionable design decisions in ByDesign --- unfortunately that's just the way it is!
