Need Complete plan for OS/DB Migration on ECC Landscape

Dear All,

Please find the below details for Migration Plan:

We are Using Currently

SAP ECC 6.0 EHP4,Unicode,OS: Windows 2008 Enterprise Edition 64 bit service pack-2 DB:- MSSQL 2008 version 10.0.2531

Migration Required for:

OS:- Windows server 2016, DB:- MSSQL-2016, ECC 6.0 EHP-8

Please provide the plan for this migration and one resource can do this in how many days independently ?

Hello Pournami Nair,

There is 3 components you need to look after one by one

I would suggest you below.

1. OS, 2. DB and 3. SAP

I would suggest you to take following path.

1. Windows 2008 Enterprise Edition 64 bit service pack-2 UPGRADE TO Windows server 2016 (1 Day)

2. MSSQL 2008 version 10.0.2531 UPGRADE TO MSSQL-2016 (1 Day)

3. SAP ECC 6.0 EHP4,Unicode UPGRADE TO ECC 6.0 EHP-8 (3 Days Max.)

Note: You need to look after other SAP products which are talking to ECC such as BW, PI, Portal, etc..
