Hi All,

Was anyone able to achieve in retrieving the info of columns(fields) present in Tables used in SAP BO crystal reports.

There is a change happening a DB level and few columns are getting changed. So inorder to brace the change, we will need to figure out how many exact reports are getting affected. I know SDK is the way to go, but if you can guide me in the right way if there are already some code where some changes are required, that would be great.

I am new to SDK, so please help me on where to start to find out this info.

Environment : 4.2 BO

Thanks,

Satya

You can use some 3rd party tools like 360 by GB and Smith, will be able to help you getting out metadata of the report, if you don't want to use SDK.

Hi Jawahar, I would like to use the SDK way only but not sure where to start. Could you guide me if there are available SDK already to filter out the column names?

Have you implemented this already in your environment?

Thanks,

Satya

You can use the Report Application Server (RAS) SDK to access the Table fields.

You open the report as a ReportClientDocument object and then access the database tables used in the report.

While there is no sample specific to your scenario, you can find sample code here: https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/Java+RAS+SDK+Samples

The API reference can be found here: https://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir4/en/xi4_rasjava_apiRef_en.zip
