Settings for Currency Conversion in Query

Former Member

Hi SDN Community,

This is our first attemp at setting in the properties of a structure element, the Currency Conversion.

Can we call upon your expertise in this area. Or if there is a step by step document. We wish to convert USD to AUD value. These currencies are stored in separate InfoCubes.

1- We have defined a variable in RRC1 the parameters to which we believe are correct.

2- We have set the source Currency in the properties of the Currency Conversion to this variable defined in 1

3- We have set the target currency, as a variable, that is filled with a value.

Can you please indicate all the items we should check on the system. And all the items we should confirm on the query level.

Perhaps we are missing a configurational step.

Thank you.

Simon

Hi Yogesh, Rasim,

Thank you both for your very informative responses.

As far as i can see, the steps detailed in the forum reply and the wiki have been achieved.

What we are thinking is there is the currency conversion table set at 1 and hence no change is taking place.

Can you please advise what tables need configuration. I know there is the conversion rates that are updated from R/3 daily within the SPRO transaction.

But are there any other tables that are read, and which do the conversion.

We have asked around but no one else has done an example within the team we can follow.

Your feedback is much appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your input.

SAP has helped diagnose the issue, it was incorrectly designed and had the settings on the rows of the characteristic restrictions, rather than the second structure with the RKF.

Dear customer,

Thanks for the connection and information.

I copied the original query as ZR_CIOP_M01_WAIO_C2_C3UNIT_SAP and

simplified it for analysis.

I found out the reason why currency conversion is not taken into

consideration is that you set it in the elements of structure

'WAIO C1/C2/C3 Structure', however the key figures are contained in the

other structure 'FY - All Months (standard view)'. You are supposed to

set currency conversion for where key figures are.

I set currency conversion for the restricted key figure 'YTD Actual',

now you can see that it works.

Please execute query ZR_CIOP_M01_WAIO_C2_C3UNIT_SAP to see it.

I have attached screenshots as "screen1.xls" to show you in more

details.

I hope this clarifies the issue for you and help you resolve it.

Hi,

As you have created the currency conversion type in RRC1, just use the same in the BEx Analyzer. Open your query in BEx and in Currency Conversion setting, use the currency conversion type there.

Following are the steps:

1. Transaction for creating currency translation type is RRC1

2. Choose the Exchange rate, Source currency, Target Currency and the Time reference in the respective tabs

3. In the query definition choose the Currency Conversion Key in the properties of the Key-figure.

Regards,

Yogesh.
