Search Like Google

Hello all,

I want to include the search as a Google Search in my portal tool Area.

Instead of searching in Specified Path Folders(Repositories in KM Folder), i want to search all over the World.

is there any code to include the Google Search?

Kindly tell any restrictions and limitations while adding that in portal.

still do not understand the question, please specify:

- Do you want to use Google Web Serahc from with EP-KM search?

- Do you want to search the Web with TREX?

- Do you want to have Google index and find EP-KM content?

Well...you can index selected Web sites by maintaining them as Web Repositories, yes.

But "the entire Web"? I don't think you want to have 1000s of Teras of index at home...

Here they specified we can integrate Third party search engines to our portal.

regarding this i saw [forums|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/thread?threadID=15406] that they integarted Google Search Engine.

That is correct.

The IMS (index Management Service) API of KM allows to connect other engines besides or instead of TREX.

Please check the KM section of the devlopers guide. Or what's the open issue?

Hi,

You can include google search itself in portal. It has no limitations as far I know. For this, you can create URL iView and add this iView to the required role for the user or add this iView at bottom of tool bar. Or you can include a link in tool bar which opens up google search page in new window. Or you can add a link on masthead near LogOff with "Search Google".

I don't need to add as a URL iView.

My Requirement is like a Google Search, i need to search in and out of my Portal in Portal search ( Web Search ).

(Process Should be same as like a google search, not including a Google search in my Site)

How can i acheive that?

You may have to configure TREX for using external web search engines. Check these links.
