Hi all...
I try to make a km navigation iview that will display all file in certain directory (path). When i preview this iview.. at top of iview there is the directory name that can be clicked beside the name to make new folder, new file, new upload,... etc.
Can we lock this facilities so that the end user can't create new folder, or new file ? The end user can only read and view the iview.
Many thanks in advance.
Regards,
Lusi
Hi Lusi,
Go to that Folder->Details-> permission-> and give only read permission to that user.
Thanks & Regards

Hi Lusi,
This you an achive by limitinng the permissions at folder level or you can cusomize the layout and can achieve the targetted behaviour.
For customizing the layout create an new layout taking the default layout. There several types of layouts in portal which you can find under Sytem udministration > System Configration > Content Mangement > User Interface > settings > layouts ,Here you can see several layout that or used in the layout property of the navigation iview which will decide the appearence of km files and folders to users.
1.Take a advanced copy of the layout
2.If edit the newly created layout can find collection renderers and resourse renderers
3.Open the resource renderer you can find the command groups , drill down in to the groups there you can find the commands which you want to hide to the user, ignore the commands in the command groups ...so that you can get lay out with out create option commands layout.
This is come under flexi ui.
Ensure that do not disturb the standard command groups.

Lusi,
U Can restrict this by using the layout set.
Just go to System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knoledge Management --> Content Management -->User Interface --> Settings --> Layout Set
Select u r layout click on "Advanced Copy".
There u can modify the layout.
U can disable the options like new folder, new file, new upload etc...
Save it .
Go to ur Navigational iview properties. menction the Layout Name in the Layout Set property.
