IDOCs - Linking between its components - breif expannation??

Hi Experts,

I know a little bit about all components(receiver, sender, segments,testing, process code, message code, message type, FM etc.) as individually, of IDOC concept.

1 - But, am unable to understand it as CHAIN/linking components each other?

2 - Wht triggers first, then next Wht triggers? etc.

request u that, can I hv some breif idea abt, my 2 above questions, just breiefly.
