Dear all,
We have a heavy dashboard with 8 charts in initial page, and when we run in Chrome from our BI Platform the performance is 30 seconds, but when we run in IE11 which is the approved web browser for users it takes 4 minutes.
We would like to know if there is way to change the settings in IE or any other means this performance bottle neck on the IE11 browser can be overcome.
Any pointers in this directions is very much appreciated.
Thank you.

Muthu Ramasamy
Hi Muthu,
Just wondering if you managed find a solution for this issue as we are experiencing a similar issue - although our issue is with a simple DS application with a cross tab. The scrolling and general navigation of the app in Chrome is better than ie11.
In Chrome also the performance is not ideal but can live with but ie11 is not workable. Surprisingly, dashboards with few graphs and summary tables perform fine in ie.
I have gone though few sdn posts and raised a message with SAP couple of days ago and awaiting response from them.
Thanks,
Ravi
P.S We are on BO4.2 (SP2), DS1.6 (SP3).
Hello Muthu - have you done profiling as Karol explains: https://blogs.sap.com/2015/06/30/understanding-profiling-and-statistics-in-design-studio/
It would be interesting to compare the profiling results in Chrome vs. IE11
Maybe your network admin can also review the settings in IE - is there some group policy, add-on, setting that could be adding time to Design Studio?
Dear Tammy Powlas,
Thank you very much, your points are very helpful.
I think the IE 'as-is' used by the client may be bit heavy for DS with added overheads as you have mentioned. I will propose the client to have a very thin IE for this purpose without much overhead but with the essential/mandatory security.
Have you come across any client who does this kind of thinning the IE so we know the feasibility(possiblity) and how much effort may be required at a very high level? (Pls. let me know if you want me to post as a separate question)
Thank you again.

I Googled this, and it says "to clear the cache, click the cog icon at the top-right of the Internet Explorer 11window (both for Windows 7 and the Windows 8 Desktop application) and select Internet Options. Then click the Delete… button on the General tab under Browsing history, followed by the Delete button on the new dialog box that opens."
I would try that first; clearing the cache
Hi Tammy Powlas,
Thank you again. I will try this and let you know the results later.

Hi Muthu,
I read about a problem with IE11 and the crosstab with drag&drop enabled and the application working in mMode. Workaround was to disable drag&drop. Are you using the m Mode and contains your dashboard a crosstab? Perhaps you should raise an OSS for it.
Best regards,
Michael Simon
Hi Michael Simon.
Thank you for your answer.
No, we don't use Drag and Drop and not in m Mode yet. In general IE11 is very slow compared to Chrome.
