Crystal Reports 2016 report will not refresh on demand (View) with SAP Data Source within SAP BO BI Launchpad 4.2 SP5.

About the environment.

Primary Authentication Windows AD

Secondary Authentication SAP ECC

What I have checked so far...

Have logged onto BI launchpad and Test SAP Authentication works.

Have run the Crystal Reports 2016 report in desk top version and refreshed successfully.

Have scheduled the report in BI Launchpad with Database Logon details specified and report schedule works.

The Database Configuration for the Crystal Report has the following setting specified:

When viewing and scheduling report: ‘Use SSO context for database logon (viewing only)'

That means when viewing on demand the report is trying to SSO the user credentials.

When I try to view the report on demand I get the following error:

The viewer could not process an event. The database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect. []
---- Error code:0 [CRWEB00000119]

I've looked in the SAP Support Knowledgebase and I've seen many people experiencing this issue.

Also, I have removed the Database Configuration setting for the report 'Use SSO context for database logon (viewing only)' and changed it to 'Use the same database logon as when the report is run' and it doesn't work either.

I do not believe SNC for SAP Authentication needs to be setup when refreshing a Crystal Report within BI Launchpad and that this is only for Publications. Can someone confirm if I need SNC set up for SAP Authentication for a Crystal Report to be view on demand?

Thanks Angad. The security token service has been applied to the AdaptiveProcessingServer.

I will take a look at implementing the End-to-End trace analyzer. Thanks for the tip.

Also, I want to confirm, do I need SNC implemented for the SAP system and perhaps that is why this error is being experienced?

I would suggest to run end to end trace on BI platform.

Also, please do check (in admin guide) if you need to add STS (security token service) in one of the Crystal reports processing services.
