How to migrate to New Analysis Authorization

Hi.Experts:

I'm upgrading my BW 3.5 to BI 7.0,and then if i migrate my query to 7.0 and select the New Analysis Authorization in the IMG,what should I do so that the authorization will be automatically migrated?

Hello Martin Xie,

You can still use the old obsolete authorization system by changing it in transaction rscustv23. It should work just like BW 3.x.

If you want to use the new authorization concept you have to migrate your authorizations. You can run the SAP program in se38 RSEC_MIGRATION or you can build your authorizations from scratch.

My question is if the OLD Authorization can restrict the query which I have changde to 7.X format?

Hello Martin Xie,

Using the old authorization concept to a query migrated to BI 7 should work fine just like it was a BW 3.x query.

Hi Martin,

Authorization concept doest differentiates the objects from 3.x or 7.0 basis.

It will still work for the old concept. if you wish you can keep the old concept still valid and run your BI system.
