Hi EWM Experts,

I am trying to create a Warehouse Task for a H.U using the Tcode: /SCWM/ADHU as shown in the attached screenshot.

When I gave the HU number and executed, In the next screen Source Bin was automatically determined as highlighted . Where do we need to make the configuration for this automatic bin assignment to happen.

Regards,

Sridhar Madiraju.

Hi Sridhar

Where usually HU (Pallets/Cartons etc..) will be placed? In Storage Bin, right!

Then that Bin itself is the Source Storage Bin (In which one or more HU exists), Coz, you are in the Tcode to transfer Full HU, from one storage bin (Source) to another Storage bin (Destination). Any Storage Bin could not exist without any Storage Section & Storage Type (So, Automatically it will pull the data of Source Storage type & Section as well).

SPROSCM Extended Warehouse ManagementExtended Warehouse ManagementMaster DataStorage BinsDefine Storage Bin Structure
or
/SCWM/LS01 to create a Storage Bin.

Note: In EWM, Storage Bin # is UNIQUE in the Warehouse.

Thanks,
Lv Prasad.

Hi Prasad,

Sorry, I didn't get the answer what I am looking for. I want to know the bin determination process for the warehouse task. As per the attached screenshot, How the system got to know pick from Bin: Y910-YI00-GR-YDI1.

Any configuration settings to check or determination process for the required bin.

Regards,

Sridhar.

You have a HU. In a bin. Where should there be any determination process coming from??? If you tell the system to move a HU which is in the warehouse, either the system knows the HU, then it knows the bin; or it does not know the HU, then you have another problem.

Hi Juergen,

Still, I didn't understand the logic.

How system able to find that, this HU is in Y910-YI00-GR-YDI1. (Example, A truck came to warehouse with some HU's in it. Now while doing unloading activity, where these HU's will be put. How system will come to know where it should put like under which storage type/storage section/storage bin.)

Because, that is how this HU came here to Y910-YI00-GR-YDI1.

Now in configuration, where I have to map this.

Further, is there any way to see, based on HU where is it located currently in the warehouse at that point of time.(In which storage Type/Storage Section/Storage Bin).

Regards,

Sridhar.

Hi,

well, that is something else.

Have you read this:

https://help.sap.com/viewer/3d97bec9bf1649099384bb8167df3cf2/9.5.0.0/en-US/4acdcb53ad377114e10000000a174cb4.html?

That should be the first step.

That is what the warehouse management monitor is for.

Hi Sridhar,

In the attached Pic, you can see two HU's are there in each Storage Bin (GR-YDI1).

Whenever, you are entering the HU number in the Transaction /SCWM/ADHU, by selecting HU in the drop down list. System automatically pulls the Storage type, Storage section and Storage Bin data where that HU is available.

No Configuration is required. Its just a simple logic.

The following Config settings are required to find out a Bin for Putaway HU, whenever Truck arrives.

SPROSCM Extended Warehouse ManagementExtended Warehouse ManagementGoods Receipt ProcessStrategiesStorage Type SearchDefine Storage Type Search Sequence for Putaway
(Here, Define Storage type search sequence)

SPROSCM Extended Warehouse ManagementExtended Warehouse ManagementGoods Receipt ProcessStrategiesStorage Type SearchAssign Storage Types to Storage Type Search Sequence
(Here, Assign the above created Search sequence to your storage type Y910)

SPROSCM Extended Warehouse ManagementExtended Warehouse ManagementGoods Receipt ProcessStrategiesStorage Type SearchSpecify Storage Type Search Sequence for Putaway
Here, Assign Search sequence to Warehouse process type 1010 (No putaway rule or keep other rule, depends on Business requirement)

SPROSCM Extended Warehouse ManagementExtended Warehouse ManagementGoods Receipt ProcessStrategiesStorage Type SearchOptimize Access Strategy for Storage Type Search: Putaway
(Here, Flag the Put. strat & Proc typ checkboxes for your Warehouse)

Use /SCWM/MON to monitor the HU's.

Thanks,

Lv Prasad.

Hello Sridhar,

How system able to find that, this HU is in Y910-YI00-GR-YDI1. (Example, A truck came to warehouse with some HU's in it. Now while doing unloading activity, where these HU's will be put. How system will come to know where it should put like under which storage type/storage section/storage bin.)

*** Putaway strategy will identify which storage type/storage section/storage bin to be considered

Further, is there any way to see, based on HU where is it located currently in the warehouse at that point of time.(In which storage Type/Storage Section/Storage Bin).

*** Transaction /SCWM/MON will provide you the information related to HU location
