LDAP Updation

Hi All

In my portal UME is configured to LDAP.

Using UME API i am able to retrive the users info from my portal application.

i need to update custom fields in LDAP.

Please let me know whether i can update LDAP from my portal application ( either webdynpro or PDK application).

LDAP is configure as writeable mode.

Please provide me your inputs
