UWL vs Workflow Inbox

Morning all,

I have a question. Currently, we are on R/3 4.7 with EP6 Frontend. Our portal are mainly used for ESS/MSS purposes. Our 'inbox' in the portal is basically a replication of the workflow inbox (sbwp) in R/3. My question is, can we use the 'UWL' instead and configure accordingly? Performance wise, will it be better?

UWL in portal displays all the workitems which were created in the backend systems.

If you generate workitem in backend systems , then only it will be available in portal.

configuration of workitem in portal is not possible.You have to use portal as front end to see workitems coming from backend workflow.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I'm aware of all those. Currently we are using an IAC Iviews which is calling the standard SBWP transaction. All has been configured in R/3 and all is working fine in the portal too. I'm interested to know on whether could i instead config and use the standard UWL iView. In other words, i want to have all notifications, alerts..to come be shown here (eg. leave approval notification to sent to the UWL).

How is the performance too?
