Integration between ECC PDF document and NW2004s portal ...

I am hoping someone can point me to some documentation to do the following ... I have an adobe forms pdf document in SAP ECC. I can pull up the PDF file in ECC and it looks fine. How do I create a request from a NW2004s EP7 SPS15 portal that will display the PDF on the portal?

We have installed Adobe Document Services (ADS) and I have tested all the connections and everything appears to be configured correctly.

I don't know how to make the call from the portal and have the PDF file that I can generate in ECC display on the portal.

Any help will be appreciated! Thanks.

    Hi Angie,

If you have the PDF doc, you can upload that into the KM repository and create a KM document iview.

Is this what you are looking for?

Thanks for your reply .. No.

I am looking for a way to make a real time call from the portal and display the ECC document (which I have created in using Adobe forms) as a PDF on the portal. I don't want to store the document in KM. I just want to be able to display the PDF and then close the PDF.

Thanks for your response but I am looking for a way to call a PDF in ECC from the portal. Maybe it's not possible.

I know that I can take a smartform and convert it to a byte stream and then make an RFC call to ECC from the portal to bring back the byte stream to the portal. Then I can take that byte stream on the portal side and re-build the pdf file on the portal side. I was hoping for something simpler than that since it has been years since I did this using a byte stream.

    Thanks.

I found the answer to my question:

No need to call the Function Module, Convert to Byte Stream or do Remote calls at all.
