NW2004S SP8 - Error after start NSP

Hi guys,

i have this problem (that i never had before and i don't understand witch could be the problem).

When i start the systems, it changes color as follow:

First yellow - > Green -> Yellow (Running but not connected to message server) -> Green -> Yellow (Running but dialog queue standstill) and remains yellow.

I've watched the disp_w0 log in instance directory and i've found this error :

What could be happend?? And why? Until 2 weeks ago it works very good.

Hi

Please check the Database mode. It must be in Online mode.

In order to connect to SAP system, the database must be in ONLINE mode.

thx four your reply.

I never start manually the database.

It always be automatic. I also don't remember the users of the database.

control/control should be working ??

The problem could be the user i use to start the instance (Administrator instead nspadm??)

Hi,

i've just tryed to use control/control to start the db manually with max db tool manager but i've got "wrong credentials".

I've also tryed to start the nsp instance with another user (nspadm should be), but also i have wrong credentials.

At this point wich are the (default) users to :

start the db

start the instance nsp.

During installation (i remeber) the procedure asks to create that users but i don't remeber that.

Hello,

You must have supplied one MASTER password for your installation. You need to enter that userid/password.

If you have forgotten it, please simply reinstall

Hi,

I know that with another installation i solve the problem.

But I wouldn't do that, because is the longest way to solve the problem.

If someone of u could help me in different way like "install again the system", would be very appreciated

Hello Andrea,

If you forgot the password of your database, i don't think there is much choice you have.

You can wait and see if someone is posting some alternative, hope that wait is not 'long' as the time you would take to reinstall.

Up to you what you wish to do.

Even i am interested in knowing what happens when you forget the master password, so i'll watch your thread
