Hi Kishore,

WELCOME TO SDN!!!

Please check this link

http://blogs.ittoolbox.com/sap/kehinde/archives/understanding-the-sap-system-landscape-14030

http://www.sap-press.de/download/dateien/588/sappress_sap_landscape_optimization.pdf

They system landscape basically is the set-up or arrangement of your SAP servers. Ideally, in an SAP environment, a three-system landscape exists. A three-system landscape consists of the Development Server-DEV, Quality Assurance Server-QAS and the Production Server-PROD. This kind of set-up is not primarily designed to serve as server clusters in case of system failure, the objective to enhance "configuration pipeline management".

Implementation of SD and MM.

SD and MM are the functional modules in SAP.

SD means Sales and Distribution

MM means Material Management

Best regards,

raam

Hi,

Landscape in general mean how your Software Architecture is implemented.

Conceptually 2 tier, 3 trier etc..

For eg. One can have application server and DB Server installed in the same hardware where as one can install Application server on a seperate hardware and DB server on a different hardware.

So this mix of installation would be depicted as the landscape. Additionally, you can have different landscape. For eg. You can have a production env. running on one landscape and you test and development env. on another landscape.

I hope this clarifies your query.

SD -> Sales and Distribution

MM -> Material management

There are software modules/applications provided by SAP that can be installed on this landscape

and can be used for Business.

Regards,

Saurabh

Nice landscape Anton! I have not seen one of those landscapes in person before, so this is good to know should I feel like a bit of change in scenery one day.

@ Kumar: If you prefer more palm trees, water features and have enough gardeners, then try [this one|http://www.sap-press.de/download/cover/9781592290260.jpg].

Cheers,

BTW: Why is this week's [Yellow Lemon Landscape Society|http://pro.corbis.com/images/SCA023.jpg?size=572&uid=%7B179F8FF3-60ED-4A7A-9C94-51E91297A835%7D] meeting taking place here in this ABAP Objects forum? And what is SAP?

LANDSCAPE(Arrangement o the Server)

Landscape is like a server system or like a layout of the server or may even call it as the architecture of the server.But it is differ from system architecture.don't confuses system architecture with system landscape.

Sap Landscape is divided into 3 different server...

Development server (190 sandbox,100 golden,180 unit test)

Quality server(300 integration,700-710 training on using product data)

Production server.(200)

Sandbox can also exit separately. The essence of the sandbox is to test the configuration of the business processes of a company

DEV====>>QAS===>>PROD...

NOTE:The flow is uni direction.that is we cant come back to DEV if their is any problem in QAS and we cant come back 2 QAS if their is any prob in PROD...
