KANBAN For FG

Hi Gurus,

In my current project my client is using kanban in the following way........they are Using SOP only to do the raw material procurement planning and using KANBAN to triggres production of FG where they have three stock level for FG with a max. limit.......when stock falls below any level it triggers production of FG....and if it falls below the minimum level it triggers production with a warning.....................Can any body please help me how it can be mapped with SAP.

1. First think i like to put a question is on the Manufacturing principle that is used here..if you tell they use kanban..then they can only manage with the status..

2. The status can be like full ,empty,inproces,wait etc..

3. In case if they are managing the production through manual control process like min,max stock level then the same cannot be replicated in the SAP.

4. BUT sap will give them a good functionality in the Kanban process level..but again the question comes since this is for the FG whether they want to wok with mrp or without MRP has to be validated...

surely you can demo them the standard kanban functionality with simple technique which can give them a fair idea of what to decide

I think i was not able to put the question clearly...Here every thing they are doing manually.Actully here raw material procurement time is nearly 3 months.They are doing raw material procurement planning using forecasting data of FG and then calculating the raw material quantity(from BOM) material code wise for next three month and product group wise for fourth month.they like to use SOP and MRP functionality for that. But they are creating production order using KANBAN pull logic which has no link with the planned order created in MRP from SOP data........

Plz give some solution

Rajib,

I think we are discussing too muchthings in one points i like to get inputs in the below form

1. FG-production by Kanban,

2. Rawmaterial requirements for next 3 months at material level

3. Rawamaterial requirement for next 3 months at product group level.

4. Planned order from SOP /MRp..

which one do we need to dicuss here.

Actually we need to discuss "FG-production by Kanban" first and then is it required to link it with Planned order from SOP /MRp.......because our client is doing SOP to get the raw material requirement qty for the next 6 months(three month material code wise and then three month product group wise)..............................

1.Nice that you have nailed down to the main issue.

2. Now do u want to plan the production with MRP or without MRP.

Based on this only we can proceed.
