Crystal Reports 2016 vs Crystal Reports for Visual Studio (NuGet)

My organization is going to upgrade their Crystal Reports software to the latest version (2016). Mainstream support appears to have ended for the version that the Visual Studio one is based off of. "SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0"

Couple things I noticed, the 2016 interop shows that it is "Version" 13.0.2000.0 and "File Version" 14.0.2002.2668. The latest CR for Visual Studio (SP22) shows that it is "Version" 13.0.3500.0 and the "File Version" of The "Version" number is higher in the VS version, but the "File Version" is higher in 2016.

What do I do? Will the VS version run the 2016 reports? If not how to do I properly add the 2016 viewer to VS.NET to do so?

Please help. So very lost.

Hi Dean,

As of CR 2011 we no longer ship the .NET SDK with Crystal Reports. All SDK's for CR 2011 and above is the version 13 which you get from here:

Read the info on the WIKI, very important.

One limitation now is you cannot connect to BOE using that runtime any more. To connect to a BOE server you need to go to Service Market Place and download the BOE .NET packages. Your support Contract for BOE will give you access to the download page.
