running BDC in background: alternative for gui_upload

as gui_upload doesnt work for running BDC(call transaction) in background..is there an alternative?

by suing open data set,i fnd the follwoing problem,

once the flatfile is present in applciation server,the job is easy..

but if the falt file is present in presentation server,how can we do a background run?
