Hi,

I installed Crystal without any errors but I get this runtime error when I want to launch the application:

https://sapmats-us.sap-ag.de/download/download.cgi?id=5SK2MQQTUFNDNSA499NSZ27MCCQ5U3JMV64RCLXUZ0CRB8...

Can somebody help?

Thanks

Please re-post if this is still an issue to the .NET Development - Crystal Reports Forum or purchase a case and have a dedicated support engineer work with you directly

Hi Alen,

This is a generic error. However, judging from what you said, I am venturing to guess that you probably had use other versions of Crystal Reports (CR) before.

If so, if you do not remove them "properly", you can get the error you reported. I will define "properly". You will need to first remove the older versions of CR. Then you will need to remove their remnant folders and registry entries. After all the remnant folders and registries are removed, re-install your new CR again.

I'm also assuming that you are doing this on your own local workstation. Thus, in short, follow these steps:

1. Go to your Control Panel and do an Add/Remove of your new CR and older versions of CR

2. Then do a search for "Crystal" so that your O/S will find the remnant CR folders

3. Go to the registry by typing "regedit", and save a backup copy of your registry before you do anything

4. Then under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, HKEY_Current_User and HKEY_Users, go to Software\Business Objects and Software\Crystal Decisions to look for any "Crystal Reports" folders

5. Remove the "Crystal Reports" branch (and below)

6. Reinstall your new CR

Give this a go and see if this will work then.

Unfortunately I got the same error.

Followed all the steps.

1.) App deinstalled,

2.) searched for "Crystal" and deleted files (there were some),

3.) deleted some keys in regedit (there were some too),

4.) reinstalled (typical)

5.) get the error when launching it
