frndz,
Pls tell me the difference routing and rate routing.
regards,
Srini
Routing:
1. It is used for Discrete manufacturing.
2. It has a set up time, machine time & all other activities.
3. Mainly it is used for order based costing.
4. Use tcode CA01 to create routing
5. Use Standard value key SAP1 in work center.
Rate routing:
1. It is used for Repetitive manufacturing.
2. It has no set up time instead of that it has rate based timings. ie, qty & cycle time.
3. Mainly it is used for period based costing.
4. Use Standard value key SAP3 in work center.
5. Use tcode CA21 to create rate routing.

Hi,
Difference between routing and rate routing are basically -
Routing -
1) Routing is used in discrete process.
2) T.Code for creation - CA01
3) It is for whose operations the production quantity and fixed duration is defined.
4) It is of order based costing.
5) Used in Production Order.
Rate Routing -
1) Rate routing is used in repeatative process.
2) T.Code for creation - CA21.
3) It is used when you plan on quantity based.
4) It is of period based costing.
5) You can use in confirmation by backflushing MFBF in repetative.

Dear ,
[Rate Routing:]
1.A routing for whose operations the production quantity and a fixed duration has been defined. Thus the production rate is also defined.
2.Rate routings are used when you plan on a quantity basis, for example in repetitive manufacturing.
3.A rate routing has the same structure as a routing. You can assign a rate routing to a material to be produced. It can have prallel sequences.
[Routing]
1.Routings are used directly in production orders for a material.
2.A routing can be used without restrictions. Some functions from other task list types such as rate routings and inspection plans are also available in routings.
3.As well as a standard sequence a routing can also have parallel and alternative sequences. You can assign a routing to a material to be produced.
