Can anybody tell me the difference between R/3 Upgrade and BW upgrade ?

Hi,

An upgrade basically delivers new functionality be it R3 or BW.

Now in terms of R3 upgrade there'll be changes to functional areas in terms of new transactions, functionality or screens, etc

In terms of BW, you'll see changes on the reporting side, extractors(new extractors might be delivered), new or added business content, back end features, etc.

Hi,

Yes those would be taken care by the BASIS team.

The tables on R3 and BW are different. If you search the forum, you'll get documents on the upgrade steps for both R3 and BW which'll have all the steps listed.
