Contract Release orders

Hi Gurus,

I am currently working on SAP ECC 6.0 with AFS 6.0, and I have an issue with contracts. I have created a contract for an AFS material with AFS grids. I have created the contract using size U (un-sized) for the material. Then i create the release order from the contract, and it copies down the quantities from the contract. I adjust the quantities from Size U to size S (small) and size M (medium). i.e. If the contract has 1000pcs for size U, when i create the release order, the 1000pcs is copied into the release order as it should. I then adjust the quantities as S-200 and M-200. The total order qty now in the release order is 400. Once i save the release order, the contract qty should ideally reduce to 600 for size U. But in my scenario, the contract qty remains as 1000pcs, and the release order qtys generate a new requirement. It does not reduce the contract qty. the release order only creates the link to the contract. How can i remedy this? I have checked the copy controls, and can't seem to find out what i have missed. Is there any other config i might have missed?

Any help from any of you who have worked on AFS would be greatly appreciated. Please do let me know. This is quite urgent!!!!
