Yes we have faced this issue sometime back ...the connection b/w NW and R/3 system did not work.
As it was giving authorization check failure ..then we changed the password to capital it worked well.

First, lets assume that there is no change for RFC user id/ password on the remote system.
And then we can clearly check using this checklist below :
- when RFC connection fail, try to ping to the remote system, is this OK ? giving extended ping to the remote server simultanoeusly will giving you connection report between two server.
- make sure with your network team that you define STATIC IP on both side. But if you are using DHCP IP for both side, please make sure that you define server name not the IP. please make sure that your DNS server is working well and able to resolve server name to IP vice versa.
- please make sure with your hardware vendor that there is no issue with your LAN card.
