Offline Planning User Authentication

We have created a workbook which has been saved on the BW Netweaver platform as an iview in portal. The workbook contains a button which triggers the VBA for offline planning. This works fine when we save the workbook to the local machine and enter data and upload the offline data via the button. The credentials that are requested during this process are that of BW username and pwd's.

Step by step

1) Log on to portal

2) Navigate to workbook (iview)

3) Open workbook

4) Enter prompts and save refreshed workbook after data display. All relevant settings such as store prompts with workbook, unchecking remove data before saving are done before saving

5) Open workbook from local machine and enter plan numbers

6) Upload offline data --> requests credentials --> Only BW username PWD works and not the portal one

The issue here is, we as developers have the usernames and passwords for the BW systems for us to use the offline features, however the end users who are the main consumers of these planning workbooks do not have BW passwords enabled in production. Our portal passwords are synced with windows AD passwords and they are always the same.

I have read somewhere that the workaround for this is to use LDAP. Unfortunately, for us it does not work. we have our usernames added to LDAP in CMC and the windows AD or Portal Password does not work during the offline data upload.

We have also tried removing the data source and inserting them from the BI Platform and that did not work either after transporting to the quality environment. I have tried to replace the system with file --> settings to point to the correct system and that did not work.

Could you please let me know if there is a special way of saving these workbooks for example

1) Save workbook to BI Platform only and not to Netweaver Platform

2) Have these workbooks published as iviews in portal with the BIP link

etc etc

Awaiting your responses
