Break up of Cost compoenent Structure

Former Member

Hello Friends,

For one of our client, Direct costs like freight, Loading & Unloading charges are inventorised by creating as condition type in PO. So during GRN itself, all these costs are added to material cost.

But the requirement in COPA, Break up of freight Cost, Loading Charges and Unloading Charges required and needs to be reported in seperate value fields.

Is it possible to show it as seperate cost component in cost component strucuture

Please advise how this can be achieved.

Regards

Usha

Hi Usha,

I guess you can try to create origin groups in OKZ1. Then go to OKKN, choose the costing variant which you use while costing. Go to valuation variant and then Delivery Cost which is at the bottom of the page. Assign condition types and origin groups in this field and create new components in cost component structure (freight costs, loading charges etc.). Assign the origin groups you've maintained in the previous step to those components. Lastly assign those components to corresponding value fields in KE4R.

Hope it helps,

Dear Usha,

That is the use of cost component structure, split and combine material costs in cost components.

Basically, really basically, this definition is set in OKTZ transaction code. After that, you can connect the cost component to the respective value field in KE4R.

You can find a thousands of documents and blog posts in the community to helps you in what you want.

Dear Gabriel,

Thanks for your response. I agree that it is part of cost component structure.

But my question is, this component structure is basically replica of planned cost.

However the actual cost might (definitely) be different.

For instance, freight cost can be considered as $10 in planned cost for a material. However actual freight cost (inward) will be different for PO to PO.

In CO-PA this actual freight value should flow and NOT the planned value.

So in such cases, how can we capture the actual freight cost in CO-PA.

Hope I have put across my requirement clearly..
