When you got the message
display from technical view, its number
.Then go to customizing follow:
SPRO>Materials Management>Purchasing>Define Attributes of System Messages>System messages
click position button write your message number
then change Cat to (empty) No Message, W Warning, E Error Message..

You can change this in IMG settings under define system attributes of messages. The path is IMG - MM - Purchasing - Environment data - define systems attributes of messages. If required message no is not in this settings, then check it in Tcode SE91.

go to SPRO - IMG - MM - Purchasing - Environment data - define attribute of system message and click on system messages
then choose the message you wanna change to error, then on the right side "category" change to E (error message)

First Identify the Message no which you got and go to SE91 type the Msg Application area and msg no. then click on change button and you can change your msg error to warning.
