PR work flow Hierarchy forwarding problem

Hi folks,

Thank you one and all for your help making me reach my client requirments.

However, I still face a critical problem in PR work flow. If there is no prerequistie maintained in the release prerequiste and If i have 3 persons in the hireracy then SAP system is triggering 3 sepereate work items to there inboxes, which should not happen according to the requirment. please suggest me with the relevant changes that need to be considered other than making the prerequiste mandatory.

Hi,

I have implemented that requirement with a new workflow design, where all release steps are combined in one workflow, that starts only for the first release code (and disregards the other ones).

As this requirement is far from what the SAP standard is designed for, the effort to realize that in a good manner, is quite high.

I suggest you yo create a custom workflow as suggested by Florin

Start with copying the standard workflow and use release strategy to get the first approver .... and than you can use the rules or get the agent using code ..

but you have to design it carefully to reduce the complications ... and maintain consistency ...

lets say A0

A1

A2

are the respective persons release code of the PR in the given hierrachy. Lets say that no pre requistie is specified for the release prerequistie. Client wants to forward first work item for approval to A0 first after a deadine of 8 days he wants that to be forwarded to A1 ( inspite of not approved from A0 ) and if A1 also not approves then it should be forwarded to A2 and wait there for ever for the final approval.

But presently what happens is that there are three seperate work items that are getting created and simultaneosly forwarding to A0,A1, A2 and seperately waitng for their approval. so do plese suggest me with any invovative steps to achieve the requirments if possible.

Hi,

a complete solution, that can follow any customizing of the release codes, release prerequesites and so one, need about 20 days of implementation. That's a little too hard to describe this here in just a few paragraphs.

I gave a very short overview in a previous answer.

You could still create a very simple workflow, which can be used for a certain order of release codes only: In the outcome "Released" of the first approval work item, just create the next approval activity and pass the next release code in the work item's container. On the second activity's outcome "approved", create just another approval activity. This way it works, but not very stable.
