Dear frndz,
Pls tell me the difference between MRP area and MRP group, both the concepts are looking identical.
Regards,
Srini
Hi,
MRP Group
The MRP group contains all the materials from the point of view of MRP for assigning special control parameters for the total planning run. These control parameters include, for example, the strategy group, the consumption mode, and the planning horizon.
MRP Area
MRP Area represents a separate organizational area for which you can carryout MRP Separately.
An MRP area can include one or several storage locations of a plant or a subcontractor. You can define MRP areas within a plant.
By defining MRP areas, you can carry out MRP specifically for each area. This enables the right quantity of materials to be provided on time for each individual area, like, for example, a certain production line, a storage location for spare parts or subcontractor stock.

Hi Srini,
MRP group is created for set of materials which have same data like strategy group, consumption mode etc
You dont need to re enetr these data again & again, just provide the MRP group then all the relevant data's will be copied to those materials
