Just installed SAPGUI for Java 7.50 rev 2 (075000040200) on Mac HS 10.13.3.

Works for the most part but I can get it to crash consistently.

The easiest way is for me to start SAP Business Workplace.

When I try that the application just hangs with spinning beachball and I have to force quit the app.

I've deleted the "SAP" folder in ~/Library/Preferences and I've delete the JAVA VM cache.

Neither helped.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

No answer, just the same problems

I'm having problems with the two latest Java GUI releases, revision 1 and 2 will freeze when accessing SE80. Only the original 7.5 has no issues.

I tried upgrading to Java9, but the GUI refuses to use it. So it's still using the 1.8.0_20 on mac OS 10.13.3

Jstack refuses to write a file, it says it can't connect to core dump or debug server.

Regards

Andre

Hello Andre,

Are you really using 1.8.0_20? This is older than the minumum requested (1.8.0_40), current is 1.8.0_161.

Could you install latest Java 8 JDK and try again? We have not seen such hangs, but of course we have not tested using 1.8.0_20.

Best regards

Hello Davis,

I am not sure which type of "crash" you mean, maybe the 3rd one (copy/paste from note 1617725).

P: Starting a certain transaction results in an ABAP dump.
S: In case this happens right after login and before displaying the easy access menu, this might be caused by missing codepage files. Please refer to note 550564. In other cases, please submit a bug report according to note 326558.

P: Starting a certain transaction or during using it, SAP GUI for Java crashes.
S: Please submit a bug report and attach the crash log-file (Linux and Windows hs_err_pid*.log, Mac SAPGUI*.crash)

P: Starting a certain transaction or during using it, SAP GUI for Java is not crashing but no longer responding.
S: Please submit a bug report and attach the output of the jstack command on the process id of SAP GUI for Java. For this install a JDK if not available yet, find out the process id of SAP GUI for Java by command jps, and run "jstack <pid> >JavaGUI_stack.txt" (replace <pid> with process id).

Please choose the one which matches and provide the relevant information as part of a bug report on component BC-FES-JAV.

Best regards

SAPGUI for Java 7.50 rev 3 on Mac HS 10.13.5 also hangs.

E.g.: I can open transaction PA20 fine, but transaction SM04 totally freezes SAP GUI.

The same on SAPGUI for Java 7.50 rev 2. Had to revert back to SAPGUI for Java 7.50 rev 1 which works fine.

Running Java 1.8.0_171

Hello Dmitry,

again, please submit a bug report on BC-FES-JAV with the information outlined in my previous comment depending on the actual behavior.

With macOS 10.13.5 and Oracle JDK 1.8.0_171, I can not reproduce any of the issues using the transactions mentioned so far.

Best regards
