RZ20 - Background Processing Monitoring

Former Member

Hi,

I got an alert in CCMS monitoring (RZ20) in regards to the background processing.

The shortname is:

"SystemWideFreeBPWP"

and the alert text is:

"1 WPs > 2 WPs current value over treshold value"

Can anyone tell me what is the meaning of the alert text?

What should I do to fix this?

/Regards,

Eida

Hi Eida,

BWP stands for BackgroundWorkProcess.

The CCMS tells you, that only 1 of you BWPs is free. All other BWPs are working. If all BWPs

are working all other Background Jobs have to wait, until a BWP is freed.

Look in SM50

Every Process with "BTC" is a Background work Process. The count of the BWPs you need,

depends on how many User are working and the Load of the Backgroundjobs (Look at SM37).

The count of the Workprocesses can be defined in RZ10 with the Parameter

"rdisp/wp_no_btc".

If your System has enough ressources (RAM CPU), you can increase this Parameter.

Or you can change the MTE Alarm, that you only get Alarm when alle BWPs are used.

But this is not recommended

Manuel

Hi,

Here you would have set threshold for free background WP as 2.

Means if the number of free WP(in waiting state) are less then 2, then the alert is raised.

You can check the state of WP in SM50
