Traditional EDI

Hi, Is XI an effective platform to use traditional EDI ? Does it have the necessary built in components to support the full cycle of ORDER to SHIPMENT

Hi Pavan

As aamir suggested..u would need adapter videlicet Seeburger.

where in the standards like ansi X 12 and EDIFACT are supported...the complete business process from order to shipment will be available..like for eg in EDI u would use a DELFOR Idoc,and there is a whole range of docs like PO and supplier forecast ,vendor invoice etc.

Hey

for EDI you need to buy some third party adapters,XI by itself can't handle EDI(until and unless you create your own custom modules)

Once you have these adapters you can do the complete business process.

These adapters are message specific or Application specific.
