SAP BW terminology for BI (BO engineer)

Hello, I recently joined new project (a complete SAP shop). I'm in SAP ERP (which is called ECC) reporting team. This is my first SAP ECC/BW experience, never worked in any ERP system in my carrier as of yet. I've been doing SAP BI (BusinessObjects) from last 14 years, I can handle anything in BO. I've not used any other SAP software other than Business Objects. But this SAP ECC (mainly BW (Business Warehouse)) seems extremely hard to grasp. However, It's very interesting, promising, and I kind of liking it overall. But, again, it's extremely hard because of all new terminologies for me :).

To make BW easier for me, I'm trying to compare SAP BW terminology with Oracle (or any other RDBMS) but got no luck finding them. I don't have hands on experience yet on BW so it's a black box for me. Here are some SAP ECC/BW terminologies that I can gather right now which I'm trying to compare with Oracle or any RDBMS so it's easy for me to understand:

1. Infoarea

2. Infoobject

3. Characteristic

4. Key figure

5. DSO (Data Store Objects)

6. Infoset

7. Infocube

8. Multiprovider

9. Composite provider

10. Persistant layer

11. Virtual layer

I've read some online documentation but I keep trying to compare these with RDBMS so it's easy to understand. So far no luck :(
