Hello Guru,

I need you help. I have this scenario:

Source: Status table ( with key and status fields ), Detail table in ORACLE.

Target: Send one Idoc to SAP for each key of Status table.

I cannot use store procedure and I cannot lock entire table, but i have to update the records retrieved by select using key fields.

For this reason I was thinking to use SELECT ..FOR UPDATE from Status table WHERE status = ' ' for updating only the records retrieved from this select. ( UPDATE Status table SET status ='X' WHERE status = ' ' )

1. Is it correct? ( I have seen the note 831162 )

2. Are there others technical scenario for handling this problem?

3. Can I join the detail table? or are there performance problems if is it big?

4. In negative case how can I retrieve the data from the detail table? Using a proxy?

Thank you very much.
